The Fed Challenge (The College Federal Reserve Challenge) is an annual academic competition sponsored by several Federal Reserve Banks and Eastern Economic Association. Our College currently participates in the third district group and competes with other local colleges and universities. The main thrust of the competition is about the knowledge of the current economic situation, identifying any existing problems and formulating appropriate monetary policies to overcome them. Students typically are judged on the basis of a professional presentation made in front of an expert committee (consisting of academic and professional economists.) Thus, in addition to the standard educational benefits, students gain confidence from such competition and enrich themselves from opportunities to apply their experience to acquire internships, discover potential career paths, and hone skills of public speaking, logical thinking, writing, and analysis which are essential to successful integration into the global economy.
