What do you hope to get out of being a mentor this year?
This year, I hope to help prepare the new class of mentors (especially since I will be a Senior) and be satisfied with how my 3 years of being a mentor conclude. I hope to help get this next class of Business Freshman excited about Business and TCNJ and help them with the foundational skills they will use in the future.
What’s something you love about TCNJ/School of Business?
Something I love about the School of Business is how well prepared you are for the little things that come with being in Business. The School of Business and TCNJ both have incredible resources at our disposal, so all we have to do is take advantage of them. Also I love the small class sizes and the medium size college. The small class sizes make relationships with professors and classmates really easy, and the medium size college means TCNJ can feel as big as you want or as small as you want.
What’s a piece of advice you have for incoming students?
Get out of your own head. Whether it is being too scared to try something new or letting a small rejection get you down, do not be your own obstacle and overthink things. Try the scary, new thing. Brush off that rejection, and move on to the next thing. College is an amazing and unique time of discovery, fun, and growth, so make these next 4 the best they can be.
