What do you hope to get out of being a mentor this year?

This year I hope to bring a lot of energy to the incoming students. My goal is to set an example for them to want to get involved on campus, never be afraid to ask for help, and to overall love TCNJ! Coming to college can be very scary, especially for students who do not have siblings or family members who have gone to college before. I hope to be a mentor that the students look up to and view me as somebody who can help further their success.

What’s something you love about TCNJ/School of Business?

Something I love about the business school is how easily accessible all of the facility is. All of the professors want their students to succeed in their classes and in their future, so everyone should take advantage of office hours or any communication with their professors.

What’s a piece of advice you have for incoming students?

I have two major pieces of advice for incoming freshman. My first piece of advice is what I had mentioned previously- reach out to your professors! Professors notice when students ask questions and participate; they give students their contact information for a reason. Attending office hours is a great way to ensure success with your grades. My second piece of advice is to get involved on campus! Getting involved is a great way to network and meet lifelong friends.
