Recent School of Business graduate Donte Ingram was inducted into The College of New Jersey’s Blue & Gold Hall of Fame. The award honors students who have made exemplary contributions to TCNJ. Presented by the Office of Leadership, the award is given to students who represent leadership, scholarship, service and the core beliefs of the College.
Ingram’s role as a leader is exemplified through the various activities he participated in while attending TCNJ, including the EOF Advisory Board, Community Advisor, TCNJ Changemakers, Student United Way and the President’s Advisory Commission on Social Justice.
“It was a tremendous honor to be inducted into such a prestigious group. During my time at TCNJ, I occupied many leadership positions, from being a Community Advisor, President of Student United Way, as well as being a Mentor for the Lion’s Leadership Institute, all with the intent of empowering, elevating, and educating my peers,” said Ingram. “For me, this award verified my purpose in life, which is to selflessly help others succeed, and reassured me that I can truly make an impact in the world if I continue to allow my values and passions to be the power behind my purpose.”
Ingram was nominated by Antonino Scarpati, assistant dean, School of Nursing, Health, and Exercise Science, who also presented Ingram with the award on April 21, 2017. Dean Scarpati worked with Ingram on a number of activities, including those performed under Ingram as the President of Student United Way and as Community Advisor, and others like the Hunger Banquet in December 2016 and a workshop for Ingram’s residents on the exploration of cultural identity and inclusion.
