Since earning her BS in Management at TCNJ, Stephanie Meier ’04 has held several positions in the hospital industry, all leading to her current role as assistant vice president, Women’s and Children’s Services, NYU Winthrop Hospital. Before joining Winthrop, Stephanie began as the community benefit manager for North Shore – LIJ Health System (now Northwell Health). She then ascended the ranks at Winthrop from brand manager with the physician liaison team, to administrative director of OB/GYN, to her current position. “In my role, I am responsible for leadership and the fiscal, quality, operational, and strategic oversight of clinical and business operations for the Women’s and Children’s Services lines, which comprise 23 divisions, 95 full time physicians, 62 residents and fellows, and nearly 500 employees.” Stephanie has also earned her MHSA in Health Services Administration from George Washington University. She credits her success to the School of Business’s “solid overview of business concepts,” as well as its internship opportunities, which exposed her to the hospital industry and were a formative influence on her professional development.
Advice to Students: “Pursue the study abroad experiences! They are an incredible way to learn about other cultures and travel, and they will help you, since the workplace continues to become more diverse.”
Fun Fact: Stephanie is the Immediate Past President for Healthcare Leaders of New York, the largest chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. At home, she enjoys running and raising her two children, Jack (age five) and Kyle (age three).
