Kristin Couch Fitzsimons graduated from TCNJ in 2010 as a double major in Business and Sociology. “The pairing of my Sociology degree, which focused on providing opportunities for individuals regardless of their social background, and my Business degree, was critical in helping to shape my career in corporate social responsibility,” said Fitzsimons.
She continued her education after TCNJ earning a masters degree from Rutgers’ School of Communication and Information with a focus on corporate social responsibility. Joining L’Oreal as a buyer in 2012 Fitzsimons sought out opportunities to grow her passion for sustainability within her team. In 2017 she was able to develop her current role at L’Oreal.
Fitzsimons studied abroad in Rome while at TCNJ igniting a passion for travel which she continues to do regularly with her husband, Brian Fitzsimmons ’10.
Words of advice to current students: “Do not let setbacks in life hold you back, continue to work hard and stay true to your passion and vision for your future. While in school, join clubs, study abroad, and challenge yourself with your course work and internships. Each of these experiences will help shape your future. Lastly, be kind to others and build relationships with individuals you find inspirational or interesting. You never know how you will reconnect with someone in your future and who will be able to help open a door to your dream job!”
