Currently based in Carbondale, IL, with his wife Brigitta Mac-Rizzo, Dr. David Mac-Rizzo is the administrator and chief operating officer of Integrity Healthcare of Carbondale. After graduating from TCNJ in 2011 with a degree in business administration and management and a minor in industrial & organizational psych, he went on to earn an MBA in healthcare administration from George Washington University. He received a postgraduate certificate in long term care and post-acute care management from the University of Connecticut as well as a certification in Personal Care Home Administration and Lean Six Sigma Green and Black from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned a PhD in healthcare administration from Northcentral University. Dr. Mac-Rizzo is licensed in four states (CT, PA, IL, MD) as a Nursing Home Administrator and in three states as a Certified Nurse Assistant.
In his current role, Dr. Mac-Rizzo is responsible for the operation of 131 multi-level-care facilities, including state-designated Covid-19, step-down, and traumatic brain injury units..”
Appreciative of his time at TCNJ, Dr. Mac-Rizzo recalls corporate social responsibility, cross-cultural management, and his ethics and corporate responsibility courses as memorable. “I could not have gotten into the George Washington MBA program without TCNJ and the courses I took,” said Dr. Mac-Rizzo. Since college, he has gained expertise and assisted several organizations in strategic planning and management, budgeting and expense management, capital allocation, profitability and cost analysis, disaster management and emergency preparedness, OSHA, HIPPA privacy, security and breach rules, contract negotiation, and management.
Currently, Dr. Mac-Rizzo is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Healthcare Executives, The American College of Healthcare Administrators, the Society for Human Resource Management, Southern Illinois Geriatric Board, and Jackson County Mental Health Board. Outside of work, Dr. Mac-Rizzo’s interests include reading, gardening, and traveling.
