2017 Mayo Business Plan Competition Semi-Finalists Announced

The semi-finalists have been selected to advance to the next round in the Mayo Business Plan Competition. The seven teams are listed below with brief project descriptions. On March 8, the semi-finalists will deliver a 20-minute presentation before a select panel of judges. Three teams will advance to the finals, which is open to the public on April 5. A top prize of $30,000 will be awarded to the winning team with prizes of $14,000 and $6,000 for second and third place teams.

“Congratulations to the twenty-one students from eleven majors in five different Schools who made it to the semi-finals of the Mayo Business Plan Competition,” said School of Business Dean, William Keep. “These students are just one more example of our TCNJ culture of mixing creativity with hard work, learning, and fun.”

  • 1855 Property Partners is a real estate rental company targeting students affiliated with large social organizations at TCNJ and aims to provide these students with a safe, fun, and unique living experience that they will never forget. 
  • CampusSell is a mobile and online marketplace exclusively for college students. It facilitates safe and healthy transactions between students, and allows for individuals of same and different colleges to negotiate prices and buy and sell both used and unused goods. With CampusSell, students can buy and sell textbooks, clothing, electronics, furniture, and just about anything to earn back cash.
  • Handl is a digital marketplace, accessed through an app that provides Clients with the opportunity to outsource their everyday tasks and errands. Handl offers services at a Client’s convenience, while simultaneously allowing commissioned employees (Handlers) to earn money during their free time.
  • Health City is a one-stop location providing quality healthcare through a unique, comprehensive state-of-the-art environment for healing by the merging of eastern and western medicine, traditional and integrative treatments, and retail services.
  • NeoBook is an application that serves as a platform for college students to connect with one another at their own respective campuses to buy and sell their textbooks and other items.
  • Noble Pursuit Consulting Services is a small consulting firm that specializes in educating and assisting mid-sized New Jersey businesses with marketing efforts in Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Nock Meals is a unique dinner delivery service that provides college students with fresh, nutritious meals from their favorite restaurants at a discounted price.
