Brittany Mashel is a media planner for The Pekoe Group, a boutique theatrical marketing and advertising company based in New York City. Before graduating from TCNJ in 2017 with a marketing degree, Brittany completed three marketing-focused internships, which as she puts it, provided her with “an invaluable range of industry knowledge and experiences.” Immediately after graduation, Brittany took a position as assistant media planner for her current employer where she creates, books, and manages advertising budgets for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows and cultural institutions.
Brittany attributes much of her professional success to the mentors she had at TCNJ, who encouraged her to cater her education towards her passion for performing arts management. She now advises all current TCNJ students to take advantage of professional internships: “One of the most defining takeaways from each of my internships was knowledge of what I did not want in my future career- job responsibilities, organizational structure, company culture, etc.” Even when not at work, Brittany can still be found at the theater. She bartends at an Off-Broadway theater and makes sure to see 1-2 shows every week!
