New! Entrepreneurs in Residence Program

The TCNJ School of Business Center for Innovation and Ethics announced today that Brad Downs ‘05 and Sean Devlin will serve as Entrepreneurs in Residence for the 2018-19 academic year. Brad and Sean are the co-founders of Front Rush, a company started at TCNJ in 2006 to help college coaches manage their recruiting on the web and mobile devices. Upon its acquisition by Reigning Champs in 2015, Front Rush was the most widely used college coach data management tool in the country, serving over 20,000 college coaches at nearly 1,000 colleges and universities.

Brad Downs served as the CEO of Front Rush from its founding through its acquisition. He graduated in 2005 from TCNJ, where he majored in Communications and pitched for the TCNJ baseball team. Currently, Brad helps advise Front Rush and Reigning Champs on growth strategies in the college athletic space.

Sean Devlin served as CTO of Front Rush from its founding through its acquisition. He graduated from Purdue University in 2004 with a degree in Mathematics. Currently, Sean works with Front Rush and Reigning Champs to assess the user needs of college athletes and coaches.

Kevin Michels, Center Director, believes that the Entrepreneurs in Residence will be a tremendous resource for the entire TCNJ campus. “Sean and Brad visited my Innovation class on a regular basis in the spring semester and provided students with first-hand accounts of every phase of the start-up — from the initial idea to building the product, sales, operations, management, and ultimately acquisition. Now we plan to share their knowledge with the entire campus.”

Effective immediately, all TCNJ students and faculty can sign up for an appointment here to discuss their entrepreneurship ideas and questions with Brad and Sean. They are available to:

  • meet with students to discuss general business ideas
  • discuss entrepreneurship generally
  • connect students across campus to work on projects together
  • offer continued mentorship
  • tech services

On Thursday, September 27, students will be able to meet and ask questions about the program during the September Business Leaders Talk 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Business Building Lounge. This event is open to all TCNJ students. Refreshments will be provided.
