Eight members of TCNJ’s American Marketing Association attended Advertising Week in New York City. The students attended event sessions at venues located throughout Times Square, all led by industry leaders. Below are highlights from their attendee experience.
Justin Boston, Marketing: Attending Ad Week in New York was an enriching and valuable experience. Not only we were able to see Will Smith talk about storytelling and Katie Couric explain her sense of media, but additionally I was able to hear from the lead Strategist of both Snapchat and Jordan Brand. As a senior who is headed into the advertising industry, yesterday just affirmed my decision to work within this field. But more so, I think it was interesting for the underclassmen who attended, and at the very least sparked their interest in advertising.
Lauren Hauser: Attending AD Week helped me to gauge a better understanding of the importance of advertising in our world today. I was grateful to receive this opportunity as a freshman and it definitely motivated me more to want to pursue my career goals.
